MUSIC TOGETHER Mixed-Aged (Newborn-Age 4)

This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through age four through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers;grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregivers;parents, grandparents, nannys;can bring the children. Adults, regardless of musical ability, can help create an environment that supports children achieving basic music competence. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience. Parents receive a songbook, a CD of songs, chants, tonal and rhythm patterns, informational booklet, "Music & Your Child" outlining the current research on early childhood music development, as well as an access code for a download of CD and acces to Music Together online Family Music Zone

MOVE BABY MOVE Crawlers Developmental Movement

The emphasis of this class is to encourage movement to help crawlers on the go! We will work on the Vestibular system (the sense of balance) and start incorporating more props, as well as rhythm, breath and social interaction. Yoga poses that encourage development are introduced, such as backbends, forward bends, side bends and twists. The teacher engages the children and facilitates parents along the way. Come Balance, Breath, & Bond with your child!

MOVE BABY MOVE-Walkers Developmental Movement

In this level we increase body and spatial awareness while working on socialization and gaining independence from caregivers. Activities encourage cognitive thinking, sequencing, expectations and timing. Language is strongly encouraged through activities that emphasize vocal sounds, songs and rhythmic games. Developmental patterns are fostered through more physical work–playing with balance, falling and standing. As always, the teacher fosters a warm, welcoming environment, making each activity fun and engaging for children, while being available for parent's questions along the way!
