This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through age four through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children. Adults, regardless of musical ability, can help create an environment that supports children achieving basic music competence. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience. Parents receive a songbook, 2 CDs of songs, chants, tonal and rhythm patterns, as well as DVD outlining the current research on early childhood music development.

Every child’s development benefits from early exposure to music and movement. Because the early months are so important, Music Together offers two options for babies. Babies eight months and younger at the time of registration may attend a Mixed Ages Class, whether registered on their own or attending free with an older brother or sister. Babies may also take the special “Babies Class” offered as a one or two semester introduction to Music Together. The music activities and materials are specially designed for parents who want to learn as much as possible about music development in babies. Meet other parents of newborns and learn some fascinating music activities you can recreate at home with your baby.

This is for (experienced!) 3-5 year old children who have had a lot of Music Together and are “ready for something a little different.” Content includes playing rhythm-patterns, improvisation, introduction to musical concepts, and dramatic play. Caregivers accompany the children. Younger siblings are also allowed in class. Parents receive a songbook, 2 CDs of songs, chants, tonal and rhythm patterns, as well as DVD outlining the current research on early childhood music development.

Canta y Baila Conmigo™ is music and movement in Spanish for children 0-5 and their adult caregivers. It is a unique program that combines music education and language immersion. With Canta y Baila Conmigo™ you and your child will be transported as you sing, dance and play to the irresistible sounds and rhythms of Spanish speaking cultures. Designed for beginners and native speakers alike, Canta y Baila Conmigo™ creates a playful, interactive atmosphere where language learning is integrated naturally and organically in the musical experience. Each semester of Canta y Baila Conmigo™ features a different collection of carefully selected folk classics, familiar children’s songs and new adaptations of traditional songs and rhymes, all beautifully arranged and recorded for the family take-home CD. In addition to the CD, families receive a songbook containing Spanish lyrics, sheet music, cultural information, and an English Language supplement for Spanish learners with song translations and language notes.

Drum Like an Animal is Rhythm Kids for Preschoolers! Class involves drumming, singing, dancing and age-appropriate, but equally as fun, music games. This is way more than just a drumming class with our main focus being to develop rhythm using the voice, the body, and the instrument. Our class format and activities strengthen and draw out a child's natural sense of rhythm while they have FUN!. Caregivers attend and drum along with us!

Rhythm Kids™ is a dynamic and innovative program for children age 5-10. After Music Together classes and before a child is ready for private lessons, Rhythm Kids™ is the next step in a child's musical development. This program helps children integrate and assimilate rhythm into their lives. With a lighthearted and innovative teaching approach, children (ages 5 to 10) learn multicultural music, rhythms, movement and drumming all while they HAVE FUN! Parents receive a CD, handouts, and video support to reinforce the rhythms learned in class. Caregivers drop off their children for this class, but are welcome to come drum with us at the end of class each day.

Younger children (ages 3-6) will be taken on a new "yoga adventure" in each 45-minute class. Using their imaginations to take them to faraway lands, they will be guided through poses to represent all that they encounter. A lion, a bear, a scarecrow! A storm, a shark, a big boat! Music is incorporated into each class to help students to remain engaged and relaxed, and to reinforce the positive messages of the yoga practice through thoughtful and kid-friendly lyrics. Older children (ages 7-10) will continue to explore the joys of yoga as they practice more physically challenging postures to build strength and balance in their one-hour class. For all ages, partner yoga is a great source of fun and cooperative learning; children will practice personal focus and self-calming skills throughout the session as well. Children of all ages will have a blast exploring their new moves while building strong body and breath awareness, cooperative skills, and self-confidence. Yoga mat and Yoga Warrior Cards with yoga postures are included. Drop-off encouraged
