You could say KC Immler has been musical since the day she was born. After all, she shares a birthday with Mozart, and just like him, began studying piano at age four. Although that's where their similarities end, it seems she was destined for a career in music! KC has been immersed in the arts from a very young age in both music and dance, spending most of her free time in lessons and classes. KC was accepted on full scholarship to the University of North Carolina’s School of the Arts high school program to study piano for both her junior and senior years of high school. Upon graduation from the program at UNCSA she decided that she wanted to use her musical talent to help others, which led her to study at Queens University in Charlotte, NC where she received a B.M in Music Therapy and a minor in Psychology. It was through her studies there that she discovered her love for working with children with special needs. During her time at Queens, KC also expanded her musical knowledge by gaining proficiency in guitar and voice. KC completed her music therapy internship at an intensive seven month program in Atlanta, GA working as a Music Therapist in the Fulton County School System, where she taught a wide range of children aged preschool to 12th grade with disabilities including but not limited to, autism, orthopedic impairments, and emotional and behavioral disabilities. KC holds a board certification in Music Therapy, and is an active member of the American Music Therapy Association. Studying at the Center for Music and Young Children, she found that the Music Together® program was the perfect complement to her love of music and working with children. She is very excited to be a new member of the Groovy Baby Music family and share her love for both music and children!
