photo Laura Sabini, Founder/Director GroovyBabyMusic

Laura Sabini grew up in a musical family where parties became jam sessions. She has sung various types of music including gospel, classical, musical theater, and a cappella, but her heart lies in jazz. Laura grew up in Milton, Massachusetts where she sang from kindergarten to highschool. A graduate of Trinity College in Psychology, Laura focused on counseling children. While living in Italy Laura continued to work with children, always using music as an educational tool. Upon returning to USA, Laura created Groovy Baby Music, combining her love of children with her passion for music. Using original jazz and blues songs, she taught interactive music education throughout the Boston area. With the success of Groovy Baby Music, Laura was eager to train with the Center for Music and Young Children and began teaching Music Together® in Cambridge and Brookline in 2000. Over the years, she has continued her commitment to offering the best in music education to the community: training teachers, and expanding in Cambridge, Brookline, Boston, Somerville, Charlestown, Southie, and Dorchester. Now the scope widens beyond Music Together, as GroovyBabyMusic offers new programs: Canta y Baila Conmigo®, Rhythm Kids, Radiant Child Yoga, and GroovyGlee. She continues her commitment to bringing positive music experiences to EVERY child: offering sliding scale tuition, countless scholarships, and performances pro-bono in the community. While Laura's directorial duties beckon, her favorite place continues to be in the GroovyBabyMusic classroom: seeing her teacher's excel, children dancing, parents singing, families experiencing The Joy of Family Music®....she can only beam! Laura loves teaching in Cambridge with the incredible jazz pianist Jiri Nedoma where parents and kids appreciate her inclusion of original songs, and Jiri's amazing chops!

photo Julie Rama Winslow

Julie Rama has spent most of her life surrounded by music. She grew up in a
family of musicians, and was staging renditions of "The Sound of Music" in
her livingroom by age 5. After college, she was on her way to becoming an
opera singer, when she realized that she wanted to use her musical talents
in other ways. She recorded a CD of original songs and began performing at
clubs around the Boston area. Meanwhile, she also took a teaching position
at Echo Falls Preschool in Newton, MA, realizing that she could use music to
inspire and educate her preschoolers. Over the next eight years, Julie
learned many different ways to talk about and involve the children in music.
Her funky and downright goofy style is contagious; it helps her to draw her
students in and allows them to express their own musical creativity.
Currently, Julie is the music specialist at Echo Falls, plays in a folk/funk
band called Smooch, and spends lots of time "rocking out" with her sons Elias & Kai.

photo Nicole Poulter

Nicole Poulter, born and raised in Connecticut, was surrounded by music from a young age.  Before she could read, Nicole’s parents put her on stage in musicals, dance recitals and choirs, hoping to give her confidence and a community in which to socialize. Little did they know it would turn into a life-long career.  Nicole began performing professionally at at 12 when she was cast in the Goodspeed Opera House production of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Nicole’s passion for music and helping others led her to Berklee College of Music, where she studied Music Therapy, voice and psychology.  While at Berklee, Nicole gained experience working with multiple populations including, pediatric oncology, senior’s diagnosed with dementia, as well as children and adults with special needs. Emily Badger

Vocalist and Berklee College of Music graduate Emily Badger has been singing since age two. Raised by two musician parents in Scituate, Massachusetts, Emily’s love for music was deeply instilled in her from a young age. As a child, she spent all of her free time performing in local musical theater productions and choir groups, leading her to be selected for Allstate Chorus and to perform at Symphony Hall. In her early teens she formed an oldies girl group that would go on to open for, and later perform with, The Drifters, The Shirelles, The Tokens, and many others. All of these experiences both shaped her sound and solidified her desire to pursue music in and outside of her education. She was accepted with scholarship to Berklee College of Music, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance. Post graduation she formed her duo, Badknight, and wrote and recorded two original albums, “It’s Alright.” and “Blue Blanket”. Emily now lives in Brighton, MA with her fiancé, two dogs and her cat! She spends most of her time now as a nanny for two amazing children. Her love for working with children parallels her love for music. Incorporating music and art into the children’s daily routine has been a great joy and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring music into more children’s lives through Music Together and become part of the GroovyBabyMusic family!

photo Aubrey Haddard

Vocalist and songstress Aubrey Haddard bridges the gap between new-wave r&b and old-school blues with timeless soul and effortless melody. Captivating audiences with a whiskey-soaked, sugar-coated voice that weaves itself in and out of groove-centric original music, performances  are refreshingly raw and hauntingly hypnotic. Born and raised in the Hudson River Valley of New York, AH now performs consistently throughout the North East. After high school, AH was given the opportunity to travel to Senegal, be placed with a host family and work at a local school with Global Citizen Year, shaping both her perspective and approach to music. In 2013 Haddard formed her own group, Breakfast for the Boys, and since they have been cultivating their own style of sound; rock&soul. Over the years B4TB has played hundreds of venues, released a 3-song EP, a first full album and is in the process of recording a second. It was at the same time that she also competed in the Hudson Valley Voice competition, placing second and pushing her forward on her way to Berklee College of Music. After relocating to Boston, Haddard won the Massachusetts Solo Artist of the Year award by Bridging the Music Productions and has become the front woman of both the Boston-based original funk group The New Review, as well as the neo-soul studio group, Sonomosaic. With the release of her debut solo EP "Adult Lullabies," AH joined by drummer Josh Strmic tour as the most eccentric New England-based duo. Now living in Cambridge, Aubrey is thrilled to join the GroovyBabyMusic team and continue to inspire children and adults alike to share in her love of music!

Jessica Green

Jessica's passion for music started at home through her mother's comforting lullabies and her father's use of music for silliness and play.  Many of her most treasured early memories involve connection through song.

Jessica sang in choirs and musicals throughout school, and took piano and guitar lessons.  Through music she also was able to grow as a leader, creating and directing two a cappella choirs and directing a non-profit production with People International Incorporated.

After earning a BA in Music Education with a concentration in vocal jazz from Virginia Tech she went on to teach elementary music and private voice lessons . When she later discovered Music Together she absolutely fell in love with it!

In addition to teaching, Jessica's performing has included work in jazz and party bands, as well as her own original material.
